This is a rough draft of the notes taken at Troop 1776’s committee meeting on July 7, 2022. They will be read in and approved at next month’s committee meeting.

Eleven committee members were in attendance, as well two of the three key members.

Girls’ Troop report

  • Four out of five girls are attending Camp Loll.
  • August campout planned.
  • We need assistant leaders, particularly women. If many people help out, leaders can commit to only a few meetings a month.

Boys’ Troop report

  • July 28th Court of Honor.
  • August – planning on Kings’ Peak campout
  • Need to work on communication.
  • Action items
    • Groupme promotion – Need to make sure that all parents are signed into groupme to receive communication.
    • Tareq needs to get Heather links to calendar so she can post the calendar to the website.
    • Heather to post email and Facebook content to website.
    • Tod to update pin in Beascout.com.
    • There needs to be a dynamic link in pin.

Cubs

  • Recruiting effort had over 200 youth at Orem car show participating in Pinewood Derby.
  • We’ll be working with Jim Lauret’s Cub pack for future recruits.

Finances

  • Had a successful fundraising dinner on June 4th. We raised $8000 for the troop.

Advancement

  • July 21 board of review. Avolta 7pm.
  • Action items:
    • Tod get Sarah Cutler and Suzzanne Cutler access to Scoutbook.

Fundraising

  • Ideas for fundraisers: Bingo night in October. We need to make sure that we run the night legally.
  • Plan on focusing on semiannual fundraisers. Want to continue yearly dinner, since we were very successful and brought the community together.
  • Action items:
    • We need to have a set budget.
    • When we recharter in the fall, we are going to ask parents to cover the registration fees. Last year, we paid for many Scouts who did not attend.
