Summary:

April report

Scoutmaster Hal reported on the activities of the troop. The troop had their first virtual camp out. Each boy camped in their own backyard, and then hopped on a video call for a fireside program.

The boys have also been working on various merit badges.

As restrictions have generally been lifting, the troop is considering holding some meetings outside, either at a park or at Scoutmaster Kent’s house.

Next camp out

The next camp out is June 25-27. We’ll be doing a backpacking trip. If a boy needs any equipment to borrow, let the scoutmasters know.

Finances

Scoutmaster Kent needs to collect the funds from the Starving Student cards, as well as any unsold cards ASAP. Please contact him.

Alissa will be getting in touch with the banker this week to create the account. Once the account is signed, the key signers on the account will need to meet together at the bank to sign.

Committee business

We need additional committee members to help. Our troop no longer has an advancement chair. The advancement chair is responsible for recording awards in ScoutBook and purchasing awards. Occasionally, the advancement chair may sit in on a board of review. This role should take 1-2 hours of volunteer work a month. If you are interested in taking on this role, contact any of the scoutmasters.

Next meeting

The next meeting is Sunday June 28 at 4pm. We’ll be having a in-person/online meeting. Our location for the in-person meeting is Scoutmaster Kent’s home in North Orem. We’ll meet outside and keep socially distant for safety. We’ll also send out a video chat link for those to join and post the address in email and in the closed Facebook group.
